National ESPN Radio College GameDay To Broadcast Live From Scholz w/ 1530 ESPN Radio and 1260 ESPN Deportes
Revsine, DiNardo and McShay at Scholz for Biggest Game of the Decade
Austin, TX – On Saturday, September 9, The Big 1530 ESPN Radio and 1260 ESPN Deportes will host the National ESPN College GameDay Radio traveling road show live from “America’s Biggest Block Party” at Scholz Bier Garten, the largest pre-game block party of its kind in the US . The thousands of UT football fans who pack the event’s pre/post game-day live broadcasts and block party for each home and away game are expected to double in number and will be treated to a special live broadcast of ESPN Radio’s National College GameDay traveling road show. The festivities kick off at 11AM with the ESPN College GameDay Radio broadcast hosted, live and in person, by Dave Revsine, Todd McShay and Gerry DiNardo.
Set to make its fourth appearance in Austin this weekend, this will be the second time the ESPN Radio College GameDay traveling road show will appear live from an off-campus venue. In addition to the multiple vendors that line 1530 ESPN Radio’s 17 th Street block party, the National ESPN College GameDay festivities will also feature three, 42-inch flat screen high definition television sets for fans to watch the University of Texas/Ohio State game from 1530 ESPN Radio’s official home, Scholz Bier Garten.
”America’s Biggest Block Party” will be host to tens of thousands of Longhorn and Buckeye fans alike as well as, live bands and more than 20 interactive vendor booths on 17 th Street (between Trinity and San Jacinto) including: AT&T, TxTag, the University of Texas McComb’s School of Business, Ben & Jerry’s, Wells Fargo, All SportsNovelties, Austin Community College and Boo Koo Energy Drink. Last weekend, the event launched the debut of 1260 ESPN Deportes, the first 24-hour Spanish-language sports radio network in Texas. In a partnership agreement with Host Communications, 1260 ESPN Deportes will broadcast the University of Texas Longhorn Football Games in Spanish. 1260 ESPN Deportes will air play-by-play of all University of Texas Longhorn Football Games and will feature an all-star lineup of radio talent, both local and national, and an updated SportsCenter every 20 minutes.
One of the oldest buildings in Austin, Scholz Garten (located at 17 th and San Jacinto) was built in 1866 and has been a popular rendezvous for generations of University of Texas students and Longhorn fans.
